Introducing Pelham Chiropractor Dr. Jessica Dietrich-Marsh

Dr. Jessica Dietrich-MarshFor years I suffered with headaches, sinus infections, allergies and then in college developed "adult onset asthma."  I had a friend that would always tell me "you know if you just saw my Chiropractor you wouldn't have this nonsense!"  Being pre-med at Ohio State, wanting to go into surgery, I wasn't about to go to some quack!  Months later, in a weak moment, I agreed to go with her.  Surprisingly, it helped my headaches!  I decided I would just go when the aspirin no longer worked.  About a year later, I was involved in a pretty serious accident and could not move my right shoulder without pain, I went back to the Chiropractor and was consistently adjusted for the first time, it took almost 9 months to regain my full use and strength.

One visit my Doc sat me down and asked me how I had done over the last nine months. I told him I was thrilled, my shoulder worked again!  Then he pulled my file and said “You know when you first started you were having sinus infections every other month, headaches weekly and asthma attacks every time you ran. How is all of that going?”  Stunned I had to think on the last time I had any problem with any of that and realized it had been at least 6 months.  Dr. Siegel closed my file, sat back and asked me why I wanted to be a doctor.  I told him I wanted to help people.  He looked me in the eye and said 'think about helping them before they ever need surgery and maybe if you’re lucky, they won't ever need it.'  Wow, what a powerful statement, I had grown up thinking the only way to help people get healthy was to be able to operate on them.

I looked at every Chiropractic College in the USA and decided that Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa, was where I wanted to go.  Palmer was the founding school; it was where it all began.  While I was there I was lucky enough to obtain a work study position in the archive department where I was given an opportunity to review the original books, pictures and techniques of the Palmer family.

Over the last 15 years I have seen my practice (and many of my patients) grow.  I have come to love the family atmosphere that we have created.  We have several generations all under care, cousins, aunts, childhood friends that all meet up. We have even had a few blind dates arranged between patients that have now resulted in marriage.  I think our goal could be prepared for consistent change. If there is something you don't like, change it.  If it is an aspect of your health, let’s change it. If it’s your weight, let’s change it.  Whatever it is, take responsibility and change it.  It is amazing to see what our patients accomplish with this attitude.

Dr. Jessica Marsh and Family.

I have three daughters, one son, two dogs, a horse and a very understanding husband!  We love to travel to new places, learn about new cultures, and visit zoos!  When at home I love to be outside, take walks, stare up at the stars and am generally amazed about this place we call home.

I personally have been adjusted no less than once a week for the last 20 years, in that time I have seen amazing changes in my own health.  I don't "catch" colds and neither does my family.  My children have never received any prescriptions or any other over-the-counter medications.  We've had one ear infection that resolved immediately after an adjustment.  I had to break down and give my girls wellness days that they can take from school because they complained others got to have a break every once in awhile when they were sick (no clue what home sick is).

Now that you know just about everything there is to know about me, let me hear from you.  I consider myself an excellent listener and look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call or email me with the link below.

Dr. Jessica Asks some important questions of interest to Pelham residents - Chiropractor Pelham Dr. Jessica Asks...

What is the purpose of pain?
Pain prompts many Pelham folks to begin chiropractic care. But pain isn't the problem! Pain is just how your body alerts you that a limit has been reached (or exceeded), that something isn't working right and that some type of change is needed. As a chiropractor, my job is finding the underlying cause and recommending the changes needed to bring your body back into balance.
What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
