Meet Pelham Chirpractor Dr. Glenn Coleman

Dr. Glenn ColemanI've always been an active and avid participant in all kinds of sports. However, after years of sports and its nagging injuries, I became concerned about the effects that this lifestyle was having on my long-term health. To help with my constant headaches and neck stiffness, I visited a Chiropractor at the suggestion of a friend. Because I knew very little about Chiropractic, I decided to do some research. The information sparked a major interest in me, being that healthcare had always been a significant focus. Whether it was my family, co-workers and patients at the hospital, or fellow athletes, I found myself surrounded by people suffering from health problems at early ages. I was eager to find out more about this alternative form of healthcare that did not require drugs or surgery.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted a career in the healthcare field. While in college, I  started focusing on physical therapy. Once Chiropractic was suggested to me, I had to find out more. Chiropractic was immediately attractive and intriguing to me because I have always believed in the importance of staying healthy naturally. I researched Chiropractic and decided to give it a try. I immediately saw results when my headaches, neck stiffness, and overall wellness started to improve when nothing else seemed to work in years previous. This is when my career focus shifted to Chiropractic. I turned to Chiropractic and I haven’t turned back since.

I started Chiropractic College at Life University in Marietta, GA. Life has a beautiful campus near Atlanta. The instructors were excellent and they offered numerous techniques with evening study clubs. This allowed me to learn Chiropractic thoroughly and at an efficient pace. This is where I learned my philosophy and foundation for Chiropractic. After two years at Life, I transferred to Logan Chiropractic College in Chesterfield, MO, which is just outside of St. Louis. There I developed my clinical background and patient care experience. Learning Chiropractic at two different schools gave me the necessary tools for this healthcare profession.

I believe that the five facets of health are essential in reaching optimal health. These factors include proper nutrition, rest, exercise, proper functioning nervous system, and a positive mental attitude. We take pride in treating and educating patients of all ages. We set specific goals for each patient and we take a personal approach in helping our patients achieve those goals. We also stress the importance of Chiropractic in achieving health, maintaining health, and enhancing athletic performance.

In my spare time, I enjoy staying active in the church and community. I enjoy movies, reading, traveling, working-out and playing sports. I also enjoy listening to music, especially live music, and visiting amusement parks. I believe that it is very important to spend time with family and friends.

Since I started Chiropractic care, the improvements to my health are astounding. I remember the time when I would become ill at least twice a year before Chiropractic. Improving my diet, working out regularly, and getting adjusted consistently, helps me to reach optimal health. I also have stressed to my family and friends the benefits of breaking the habits of using vaccinations, antibiotics, and pain relievers because they do not fix the problem and may cause more harm eventually.

Dr. Jessica Asks some important questions of interest to Pelham residents - Chiropractor Pelham Dr. Jessica Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
How long will you need chiropractic care?
You'll need chiropractic care as long as you live in Pelham and encounter physical, chemical or emotional stress that you cannot adapt to or accommodate. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
